Employment Opportunity: Charleston Newspapers hiring community news specialist

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston Newspapers’ Metro Department has an immediate opening for a photographer/reporter/page designer.

Based in the West Virginia’s capitol, Charleston Newspapers operates The Charleston Gazette and Charleston Daily Mail. The immediate need is for a full-time staff person with a passion for community journalism.

The Metro Department produces weekly zoned editions and special sections under the supervision of the advertising department. Metro covers a wide range of community events, including news, business profiles, local sports, and human interest features.

“Applicants should have good writing, reporting and visual media skills. Other qualifications include experience in Photoshop and building pages in InDesign. Experience working with video is a plus. They should have good people skills, be able to multitask and work at a fast pace.  Be a part of an exciting and growing multi-media company!

Journalism or related degree required. Health insurance and 401 K available.
